Our mission

Giving every Kallah what she needs

Seeing firsthand that there are girls who get married with literally NOTHING – no pots, no dishes, no linen – was the impetus for Ateres Kallah’s creation.

Founded in 2013 by Rebbetzin Surelle Morgenstern together with Batya Salamon, Ateres Kallah began with just a few Kallahs in Yerushalayim. Networks of women, with their collective “yiddishe mama” power, raised the $1,000 to “set up” each Kallah.

Today, Ateres Kallah receives upwards of 100 requests each week (!!!). Some families can barely put bread on the table. Some are simply overwhelmed by the huge costs of marrying off a child. Whatever the story, we are there to lighten their load. Our deepest wish, and foremost goal:

never turning any Kallah away

Our initiatives

The gift of dignity

Essentials Package

Each bride receives a complete package of household essentials: linens, kitchenware, small appliances. Everything is high quality, chosen with care, and packaged to perfection. For kallahs that know the taste of struggle, a beautifully wrapped basket symbolizes a hopeful future.

Help them build a Torah true home
without worrying about how to fill the house.

Yosis Alayich - Adopt a Kallah

There’s nothing like that “brand new” feeling of a freshly stocked apartment. Yosis Alayich allows you to elevate that excitement  by sharing it with another Kallah. It’s a special connection, cemented by the tefilos the Kallahs pray for each other on their Yom Hachuppah. For a Kallah who doesn’t have the means to set up an apartment, engagement is a time of fear, even despair.

Walk to the chuppah with the zechus
of her joyous entry into marriage.

Bais Fraida

Sheva Brachos is one week that happens once in a lifetime. Some Kallahs come to their special week with one shabbos dress – and it isn’t new. At Bais Fraida, each Kallah gets a private appointment, and chooses beautiful, up to date outfits. Newly outfitted, she can walk into Sheva Brachos the way she should: as a queen.

Turn her into a queen
 for her Sheva Brachos week.

It’s not just pre-wedding jitters that worry her

It’s the fear of facing her chosson when they enter their empty apartment. It’s the tension in the house as her parents wonder how they’ll cover the costs. And it’s stealing the joy of her special time.

When Ateres Kallah hand delivers the package,

It’s not just an apartment we’ve transformed.

It’s the enormous sense of relief for parents. It’s the excitement it brings to the whole family. It’s the kallah getting back her smile and the anticipation for her wedding day – the way it should be.

It's the Mother

who overflows with gratitude when she thanks us for sparing her 20 phonecalls and trips to gemachim

The Father

who can't contain his relief when he says “now I know the house is taken care of.”…

The Chassan

who asked his escort to wait outside so he wouldn’t see (and be jealous of) the beautiful items …

The Kallah

who says after dancing
“I can’t wait to go home and start my new life.”

It doesn’t take a lot

With just 1,000$ we can set up a home

May the zechus of hachnasas kallah fill your life with bracha!
